more about me...

more about me...

I (like most people, I guess) have a dark side I seldom show that is the flip side to my normally sunny and pollyanna-esque self. Which side is the real me? Both, of course. Sometimes I think maybe I have a little bit of a split personality because of this 'division of self'. Also because I go by my middle name with those who know me, family, friends, etc..but in the business world and back when I was in school, I am/was called by my first name. In my parents' wisdom, after waiting for me for 9 years, they named me after both of them, but since I had my mom's name as my first name, I was called by my middle name. At home. But at school, naturally they didn't care what you *wanted* to be called, you were just called by your first name no matter what! Well, maybe that is where it started, but as a southern girl, I was also taught that girls don't get mad, don't argue, don't fight, are always nice, sweet ladies. Ha! I am argumentative, and competitive by nature, so that part usually wins out eventually over the 'sweet lady'....heh...I also have a bit of affinity for dark things, like vampires, and of course I love black cats! (I have one that is 4, named Mickey)I love black leather and well...other things like that...and of course my cemetery prowling, mostly to look for ancestors and just for the fun of it ;)

Well back to another of my 'secret vices', watching VH1 & MTV...I am a TV junkie but in moderation! Only have Basic Cable, not the full blown package...

Bye for now, love and hugs, peace and harmony,
*d*

lol I'm the same...You couldn't tell it by looking at me..but I love wearing black leather, and halter tops..I like darkness and candles..Yet I also love sunlight and time with family/friends etc. I too am argumenative now days..but I wasn't that way before. It's something you aquire over time, due to being stepped on one to many times :)

Interesting thoughts here...I've been having some thoughts on duplicity and personal-separation recently as well. With the practice I've been doing, I've been noticing my own separation from self...and that my recognition of the fact is serving in my choice to integrate myself.

One is the most powerful thing in the universe. :-)

Integration is good, but isn't One also 'the loneliest number'? Sorry I could not help that! My punniness asserting it's silly self...! Seriously, it is good that you can see this early in your life rather than at such an advanced age as me...!

LOL - That was too funny.

I wish I could claim brilliance to attribute to this wisdom, but it is not my own. ;-) My practice is being good to me!

I think we all have a dark side to some degree. I try not to let mine show too much, it may be a bit darker than most could handle, lol.

We all have a darness to us. The role we sanction it to is the tell all. I think we all have an amount of duplicity or duality within as well. Ever notice the conversations you have with yourself? Many people allow one of their 'sides' to ask the questions, but they squash the other side that answers them.

When 'expressing' my darker side here on tblog, naturally, I chose to open a new blog and give her some airtime. If you can believe it, she came out speaking from the perspective of a man. I was quite shocked at first, but it seemed to make sense. Interesting, ha? Good post, Darcina. Makes you ponder. :)

Wow. I have the same situation. I am called by my middle name most of the time. When I was in school though, they refused to call me by my middle name and I stopped correcting them. So I was one name at school and a different name with my friends and at home. I went to a very large high school and there were actually people who thought I was twins because of the dual name thing! Once I became an adult though, I started insisting that everyone (even at work) call me by my middle name. I think it is much better that way
